Hello WOPC Families!
I hope everyone is keeping well. We are well on our way into October and the children have been settling in nicely in their new classrooms! We are so proud of them! Our staff have been working tirelessly to ensure that each child has had a smooth transition into their classrooms. We would like to celebrate our staff on Tuesday, October 17th, 2023, as it is Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day!!
Please join us in acknowledging all the hard work the teachers do and the support they have given to all of our families in the Centre. There are two banners located in the main hallway of the daycare. Please feel free to write a message of thanks or acknowledgement to the tremendous efforts of all our staff. In honour of our staff, The Halton Region will be hosting a Professional Learning Symposium for all our staff on Friday, October 20th. Please note that we will be CLOSED on this day. Our staff are very excited and eager for this learning opportunity to help them be their best in their roles as teachers.
In other news, we would like to welcome our new Cubs Room teacher who will be joining our team at WOPC starting on Monday, October 16th! Ms. Sydney specializes in infant care and has had many years of experience in the infant program. Ms. Sydney is a fellow Sheridan College graduate and a Registered Early Childhood Educator. We are confident that she will be an amazing addition to our already wonderful team. Please feel free to check out her bio and picture posted just outside the Cubs Room!
We have also acquired many new supply staff to cover when our permanent staff are away or off sick. You may have met some of them already. Just to mention a few, we have Ms. Annie, Ms. Nawal, Ms. Sithumi, Ms. Lovepreet and Ms. Rahat, and of course we have our well known Ms. Afsheen and Ms. Karen. We also have a few of our previous summer students on our supply staff list! All of our supply staff have a police check with vulnerable sector screening, first aid/CPR certificate, up to date vaccinations and reference checks before they are able to work at our Centre. We take great pride at WOPC to provide the best care to your children by hiring the very best staff for the job.
Lastly, our catering company, "Wholesome Kids" has introduced an email especially for parents to use for any questions or concerns regarding your children's meals. You are invited to email them at [email protected] if the need arises. We would also be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the menus or ingredients as well. The children really enjoy the food from the catering company and it definitely shows!
